It has been three months since Carla Cook Fuqua’s mother says she’s seen or heard from her. “People have said ‘we’ve seen her here or we’ve seen her there,’ but nobody in the family has seen her,” said Darlene Cook. The family last reported seeing Fuqua on Oct. 29 at her home in Piedmont. “We still haven’t had any solid information of anyone that’s seen her,” said Piedmont Police Chief Steven Tidwell. Tidwell said that law enforcement had been informed that she has been spotted in a residence in Etowah County, however she was not at the location when authorities arrived. In an earlier press release from the Piedmont Police Department, Tidwell stated that “no foul play is suspected and evidence suggests that Mrs. Fuqua has visited the Piedmont area several times since she was last seen by her family.” Tidwell said that they have no new information on her case and nothing has changed. Fuqua’s mother, Darlene, and her aunt, Phyllis Cook, and cousin, Michele Thacker, pleaded on a recent television newscast for anyone with information on the whereabouts of Fuqua to come forward. Carla Cook Fuqua is described as a white female, 28 years old, 5’4” tall, and weighs approximately 100 pounds, with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. Anyone with information on Fuqua should contact Sergeant Carolyn Durham at 256-447-9091. You may also contact Carla’s mother, Darlene Cook, at 256-453-8696.
